What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a health care profession that enables people to improve their physical health and well-being. It is often used interchangeably with ‘Physical Therapy’.

Physiotherapists or physical therapists bc are experts in analyzing movement, strength, endurance and overall function. They are skilled in the assessment and treatment of several illnesses that impact your body’s ability to move and function as it should. They are key team members in rehabilitation and often engage in interdisciplinary collaboration to promote function, fitness and overall health.

What to expect from your Revere Physiotherapy experience?

At your first visit, you will spend a dedicated 1-on-1 time with your best physiotherapist. During this time, you can expect:

  • A diagnostic assessment, manual intervention, a customized exercise regime, and patient education are the core components of an effective physiotherapy session. We offer the best of evidence-based care using techniques.
  • Exercise Prescription – Physiotherapists are trained specialists in providing an individualized exercise plan that caters to your individual needs and lifestyle demands. At Revere, we teach movement using the physiotherapist’s touch as real-time feedback, I.e. target points on your body. In doing so the movement becomes accurate and functional. The patient is taught and made to demonstrate exercises under supervision to enable maximum safety. Once approved by the physio, exercise programs can be carried out at home.

  • Manual Therapy – For muscles and soft tissues, trigger points after commonly formed. Trigger points can be treated through various techniques including active release, dry needling, manual therapy or manipulations.

Can't make it in?

Telerehabilitation or Telehealth is a form of virtual care we offer at Revere Physiotherapy in the event you can’t make it to our clinic.  Please keep in mind that this is not a replacement for our hands on in-person experience, but can still be useful when needing a consult/advice or learning exercises.

How do I book an appointment?

How long are the appointments?
Typically, appointments extend anywhere between 30-60 minutes.
Do you do direct billing?
Yes, we can bill directly to most insurers. Give us a call if you would like to confirm.
What can I expect during my first appointment?
First appointments can be slightly unsettling. Don’t worry, you are in good hands! Expect a series of questions confirming medical and relevant history, a thorough assessment and a customized treatment plan to achieve your goals. You will feel better, that’s guaranteed!
Do you accept ICBC / WSBC Clients?
Yes, we are contracted with ICBC and WorkSafe BC. We don’t charge any user fees for your sessions following car accidents or work injuries.
