What is Direct Billing?

We know that back and forth conversations with insurance providers are quite the hassle! That’s why we bill directly to your insurance providers so that you can focus on your health and recovery instead.

Is Physiotherapy covered with extended health?

Most insurers cover physiotherapy sessions. It would be best to check with your employer to confirm as we cannot access your coverage details directly.

Some extended health plans allow spending up to a certain limit. Other plans offer 100% coverage and unlimited sessions. As this information is confidential, only you are able to access and determine the details of your plan.

Sometimes benefits are available, but conditional on a referral. Please confirm this with your provider beforehand.

Which companies can you Direct Bill with?

We offer direct billing with over 20 extended health benefit insurance providers!

The most common plans we see are:

  • Canada Life
  • Manulife
  • Pacific Blue Cross
  • Medavie Blue Cross (RCMP)
  • Green Shield
  • Great West Life
  • Sun Life
 
If you are covered by an unlisted provider, check with us. It is likely they are part of one of these.

Are there any Limitations?

There are a few limitations to direct billing:

Partial Coverage/Deductible – You will be issued a receipt and billed for the amount not covered by your plan.

Secondary Coverage – Insurance providers do not allow us to coordinate spousal coverage unless it’s Pacific Blue Cross.

Future Payments – We are unable to bill for appointments at a later date.

Split Invoices – We are unable to split invoices to fit into your plan.

What we need from you for Direct Billing

When you come to your visit please bring the following:

  • Benefits card
  • Referral, if applicable

We will also need the following information to process payment effortlessly:

  • Claim ID and policy/plan number
  • If applicable, your relationship to the primary policy holder
  • Secondary coverage details, if applicable
